Pennisetum alopecuroides, commonly known as Chinese Fountain Grass, is a clump-forming perennial grass valued for its elegant, arching green foliage and soft, bottlebrush-like flower spikes in shades of cream to pinkish-brown. Flowering in late summer through autumn, the fluffy plumes rise gracefully above the foliage, bringing texture, movement, and seasonal interest to the garden. In winter, the foliage turns golden-brown, adding further ornamental appeal. This versatile and low-maintenance grass is also drought tolerant once established.
