Description
BROCCOLI EARLY PURPLE SPROUTING – Brassica oleracea var. italica
Broccoli Early Purple Sprouting is a traditional, productive broccoli variety prized for its attractive purple flowering shoots and excellent flavour. Instead of producing one large central head, it develops numerous tender purple sprouts over an extended harvesting period.
The young shoots are delicious and can be harvested regularly as they develop. The attractive purple colour also makes this a great choice for the home edible garden, adding visual interest as well as a reliable supply of fresh vegetables.
Planting: Plant in full sun in fertile, well-prepared soil. Allow enough space for the plants to develop fully and provide good air circulation.
Water: Keep the soil consistently moist, particularly during active growth and when the shoots are forming.
Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or well-rotted organic matter.
Harvest: Pick the young purple shoots regularly while they are tender. Frequent harvesting encourages the plant to produce more side shoots.
Uses: Excellent steamed, stir-fried, roasted or added to salads and vegetable dishes. The purple shoots can also add attractive colour to meals.
PRE-ORDER PRODUCT: Supplied as plugs in a 48 plug tray.
A fantastic choice for gardeners wanting a productive edible crop with beautiful purple shoots and a long harvesting season.
