AUBERGINE LILAC WAND – Solanum melongena ‘Lilac Wand’
Aubergine Lilac Wand is an attractive and productive aubergine variety producing slender, elongated fruits with a beautiful lilac-purple colour. The fruits are tender, mild and versatile, making them an excellent choice for the home vegetable garden.
The long, slim fruits are particularly easy to harvest and can be picked while young and tender. Lilac Wand adds both colour and interest to the edible garden and is well suited to growing in vegetable beds or larger containers.
Planting: Plant in full sun in a warm, sheltered position. Space plants adequately to allow good air circulation and room for the plants to develop.
Water: Water regularly and deeply, keeping the soil consistently moist during flowering and fruit production.
Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or well-rotted organic matter.
Harvest: Harvest when the fruits are young, firm and glossy. Regular picking encourages continued fruit production.
