Growing a Flavourful Herb Garden

Grow a flavourful herb garden! Tips on planting, maintenance & popular herbs to attract pollinators and add fresh flavours

Herbs bring more to a garden than just flavouring for food. They also make fantastic garden plants, are low-maintenance and attract pollinators.

☀️ Choosing the Right Location and Soil

A herb garden can be container grown or in the garden, in a sunny sheltered position. The plants thrive in free-draining soil with an organic fertiliser added to promote strong root growth.

🏡 Garden Styles: Formal or Relaxed

A more formal style of herb garden will look stylish surrounded by a low hedge of Lavender or Rosemary. For a more relaxed approach simply randomly mix favourite herbs.

💧 Watering and Maintenance

Water well until established and trim herbs regularly to preserve the flavours and scents.

Top Tip: Pick herbs from the tip of each stem, above a pair of leaves as new shoots will grow from the stem creating a bushier plant.
