Physostegia virginiana, commonly known as the Obedient Plant, is a robust perennial admired for its tall spikes of tubular, snapdragon-like blooms that can be gently repositioned on the stem, hence the name “obedient.” This lilac-pink selection flowers from mid- to late summer, bringing soft pastel tones and reliable vertical accents to borders. A favourite with bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, it thrives in moist, well-drained soils but adapts well to average garden conditions.
