Selago villicaulis ‘Purple Turtle’, commonly known as Purple Turtle Selago, is a compact, hardy perennial indigenous to South Africa. It forms neat, bushy clumps of fine-textured, glossy green foliage and produces masses of vivid purple flowers from winter to spring, with a repeat flush in midsummer. This long-flowering shrublet attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it a vibrant addition to wildlife-friendly gardens. Thriving in full sun with well-drained soil, it is drought-tolerant and ideal for coastal, fynbos, or water-wise plantings.
