Description
MANGETOUT GOLDEN SWEET – Pisum sativum ‘Golden Sweet’
Mangetout Golden Sweet is a beautiful and unusual sugar pea variety producing flat, edible pods with a striking golden-yellow colour. The pods are crisp, sweet and tender, making them ideal for harvesting young and enjoying fresh from the garden.
The attractive golden pods make Golden Sweet a standout in the edible garden and provide a colourful alternative to traditional green mangetout. The plants are vigorous climbers and benefit from suitable support as they grow.
Planting: Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Provide a trellis, netting or other support for the climbing plants.
Water: Keep the soil consistently moist, particularly during flowering and pod development.
Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or well-rotted organic matter.
Harvest: Pick the flat pods while they are young and tender, before the peas inside become fully developed. Regular harvesting encourages continued production.
Uses: Excellent eaten fresh, added to salads, stir-fries and vegetable dishes, or lightly steamed to retain their crisp texture and sweet flavour.
PRE-ORDER PRODUCT: Supplied as plugs in a 48 plug tray.
A colourful and delicious mangetout variety that combines attractive golden pods with a sweet, crisp harvest.
