Description

CLIVIA GARDENII is a beautiful indigenous evergreen perennial, prized for its lush dark green strap-like leaves and elegant drooping trumpet-shaped flowers. Flowering from autumn through winter, the blooms range from orange to salmon with distinctive green-tipped petals, adding colour to shaded areas when few other plants are in flower.

Naturally found in the forests of South Africa, CLIVIA GARDENII thrives in shade to semi-shade and is ideal for woodland gardens, shady borders, under trees, and container planting. Once established, it is drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and highly adaptable.

This attractive plant also produces clusters of bright red berries after flowering, providing additional ornamental interest and attracting birds to the garden.

Growing Conditions:

  • Position: Shade to semi-shade
  • Height: 60cm – 1m
  • Water: Moderate, drought-tolerant once established
  • Soil: Well-drained, rich organic soil
  • Flowering Season: Autumn to winter
